Our Story
Diagnostic Assessment and Consulting Services is a Houston-based small business founded by Erica F. Collins, M.Ed., M.S., and Darline J. Houston, M.Ed., M.B.A., in 2007. Our company was established with the mission of addressing academic disparities among children with disabilities. With a combined experience of over 30 years, we specialize in delivering exceptional services to students with disabilities. Over the past 18 years, our focus has been on conducting high-quality psychoeducational evaluations for school-age children and young adults.

Meet The Founders
Erica Collins, M.Ed., M.S.
As an educational diagnostician with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Prairie View A & M University and a Master of Science (M.S.) from University of Houston, I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically. With over 20 years of experience in education and intervention strategies, I work tirelessly to identify learning challenges and collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment for students. My passion for helping students reach their full potential drives me to stay informed about the latest research and best practices in the field of education.
The parents of the organization I volunteer for, J.A.Y (Youth About Jesus), occasionally have questions about the special education process and what can be done to better support their student. This played a key role in establishing a company with my partner to evaluate students and provide information on the rights of parents. Diagnostic Assessment & Consulting Services (DAACS), has been in service since 2017, providing the most effective and comprehensive support to those in need.
In my free time, I like to TRAVEL! I enjoy relaxing with family, friends and a good book. I am a proud wife and "boy" mom. I have two sons and two grandsons.
Darline Houston, M.Ed., M.B.A
Hello! I am an educational diagnostician with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas Southern University. Throughout my 20-year career, I've had the opportunity to work in both the private and public sectors. My expertise lies in cognitive and academic assessment, where I help identify and support students' learning needs. This allows me to assist educators and parents in implementing and creating an educational plan that will ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
My passion for learning and instilling that passion in others is unmeasurable and has led me to create a company with my partner and mentor future educational diagnosticians. I am a proud mom, wife, and educator. I am avid reader and enjoy watching old television shows.
